During this month of December several beguinages glow in the dark: in the women cities of Leuven, Turnhout and Kortrijk beautiful candles of Christmas are burning, remembering us to let our own inner light shine…
In detail:
- the beguinage of Leuven: more then 5000 candle lights* will be burning on the 12th of December from 6 to 9 o’clock in the evening – everything is organised by the ‘Mannen van ’70’.
- the beguinage of Turnhout: on Christmas Eve, 24th of December the beguinage will burn candles* all over from 5.30 till 9 o’clock in the evening – this all realised by the Museum of the beguinage and her volunteers. The same time the museum of the beguinage will be free to visit.
- the beguinage of Kortrijk: from the 5th of December till the 3th of January the beguinage is decorated in Christmas spirit (organised by O.C.M.W., decorated by Provinciale tuinbouwschool) – the beguinage is open from 9 in the morning till 9 in the evening. The Experience Center (‘beguinage museum’) will be free to visit from Tuesdag till Sunday from 10 in the morning till 5 o’clock in the evening.
